Seymour Chwast
Seymour Chwast lives and works in New York, where he was born in 1931 and studied graphic design and illustration techniques at the Cooper Union Art School in New York. As a founding member of Push Pin Studios, he contributed to the affirmation of the Push Pin Style that was to have such success and influence on contemporary visual communication. In particular, Chwast was the creator of the Push Pin Graphic, a specialised publication with an international readership. He designed posters, illustrations, typography and commercials. A collaboration between The Pushpin Group and Mohawk Paper Mills, the biannual journal Design & Style, Design & Style was edited by Steven Heller and designed by Chwast, along with associate designer Roxanne Slimak.
