Hans Schleger + Associates
Hans Schleger signed his work as Zéró. He studied in Berlin and for five years worked as freelance designer the United States. He later set up his own studio in London. He was commissioned by The Council of Industrial Design to design the symbol for their Design Centre in the Haymarket, London. As well as a desiner, he was a visiting lecturer to the Chelsea Polytechnic, the Central School of Arts and Crafts, the Royal College of Art, all in London, and the Regional College of Art, Manchester. Last year (2024), I came across a selection of his design work for n+m: Naturwissenschaft und Medizin (Natural Science and Medicine) magazine. Erwin Poell's work for n+m magazine, which was published between 1964 and 1971 by C.F. Boehringer & Söhne, is a fantastic example of engaging and accessible data visualisation.

Advertising 16mm Film. The work of Günter Heil

Little is known about the designer Günther Heil. he established his graphic studio in Berlin and designed many advertisements for 8mm and 16mm film distributor Bruno Schmidt in the 1960s. These were created in the same era as the film distributor Atlas Films was sending films to art-house theatres and were hiring designers Hans Hillmann, Hans Michel, Günther Kieser, Wolfgang Schmidt and Karl Oskar Blase.
