Hermann Kosel
Hermann Kosel studied at the Akademie der bildenden Künste in Vienna, winning a gold medal at the age of seventeen in 1913. He began as a freelance muralist and, after finding success in several poster competitions, moved into applied graphics. He became a member of the Secession in 1952 and held one-man exhibitions at the Künstlerhaus in Vienna in 1959, 1962 and 1971, along with a major retrospective in 1976. He received the first prize for Austria at the Rimini International Poster Competition in 1952 and was awarded the honorary title of professor.
