‘Modern British Posters explores the interaction between modern art, graphic design and the utopian vision of Britain in the twentieth century, as the modern poster found a way of communicating beyond the established rhetoric of advertising and sales. Modern British Posters discusses the cultural significance of the poster as mass communication, the development of printing through a large collection of posters. The posters cover topics as broad as transport, new towns, art, architecture, the seaside and popular culture.’

Matthew Leibowitz was born in Philadelphia in 1918 and was a pioneering American graphic designer known for his innovative use of typography, illustrations, and photography. Over his career, he worked with clients like IBM, AT&T, and Paramount Pictures, received over 150 international awards, and his designs are featured in the collections of major museums, including MoMA in New York and Paris.

A few years ago the publicity department of Siam di Tella found a collaborator who early in his studies of architecture was attracted by the problems of visual art. His name is Guillermo González Ruiz he was born in Chascomus (Province of Buenos Aires) in 1937. Between 1957 and 1960 he received 18 awards in poster competitions, some of which were of particular importance.
