Maciej Urbaniec

Maciej Urbaniec was born in 1925 in Zwierzyniec and graduated in 1958 from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. He specialised in poster design and participated in exhibitions of Polish posters, at home and abroad, and in numerous competitions. Among the major awards for his works are: the Tadeusz Trepkowski Award (1958); the Ministry of Culture and Arts Award (1960); seven awards for the best poster (Warsaw, between 1964 and 1973); two gold medals (1965 and 1973), one bronze medal (1969) and two mentions (1972 and 1974) at the Polish National Poster Biennials; two silver medals (1970 and 1974) at the Brno Graphic Arts Biennial; two bronze medals at the Leipzig Editions Exhibition (1971) and at the Third Polish Poster Biennial.
