Timelines – The Art of Modernism, Taschen, 2001

‘This volume explains the artistic development of modern art from its impressionistic beginnings in the 19th century to the pluralistic art scene of the present, showing this movement as a completed development in art history. The Art of Modernism , illustrated with more than 950 images, follows the parallel developments in science, philosophy, politics, and social history of the 20th century, underlining the interconnecting facets in the various disciplines. Based on more than ten years of systematic research, this volume draws a picture of the development of Modernism as a continuous, unified and meaningful whole.’
