Hans Neuburg was born in 1904 in Czechoslovakia and became a Swiss citizen in 1954. In 1939 he set up a pavilion at the national exhibition in Zurich, and from then worked on project design and graphics for exhibitions and shows. In 1958 he founded Neue Grafik with Lohse, Brockmann and Vivarelli. In 1960 he was elected president of the Swiss Graphic Arts Association and in 1963 vice-president of Icograda and received a position at the School of Creative Design in Ulm.
