Heinz Edelmann was born in 1934 and was a Czech–German illustrator and designer. After graduating from the Academy of Fine Arts in Düsseldorf in 1958, he worked as a copywriter before transitioning to graphic design in 1959. From 1961 to 1966, he taught graphic design but left state service shortly after being sworn in. In 1967-68, he worked on a cartoon film in London and later moved to The Hague in 1970.
