Josef Müller-Brockmann

Josef Müller-Brockmann was born in 1914 and began his professional career in 1936, after two years of graphic apprenticeship in Zurich and two years of advanced training at the local School of Applied Arts. He is one of the best known Swiss designers. In 1966, he published Grid Systems in Graphic Design, a seminal work that became a cornerstone of modern graphic design education.
