Lou Klein graduated from the Cooper Union and Yale University School of Art and Architecture. He worked as the art director of Interiors Magazine and Time International before moving to England in the 1960s to become creative director of Charles Hobson Grey Ltd. He also taught at the School of Visual Arts in New York and was active in the Designers and Art Directors Association. He worked across packaging design, corporate identity programs and advertising.
