Mark Handel was a California native and Yale graduate whose bi-coastal perspective shaped much of his work. He was the art director at Adix, a New York fashion and graphics magazine, and also freelanced for Wet and CBS Records, where he had previously been on staff. Known for transforming stock photos with drawing and color, Handel brought everyday objects to new levels in his compositions. His strong interest in typography was nurtured during his time at Yale, where type treatment was a key focus.
