Theo van Doesburg was a Dutch painter, writer, poet and architect. His birth name was Christian Emil Marie Küppe and he was a founder of the De Stijl group and periodical in the Netherlands, alongside J. P. Oud and Jan Wils. Other members of the group included Vilmos Huszár, Piet Mondrian, Bart van der Leck, and Georges Vantongerloo.
