As part of the ongoing visiting lecture series I visited the Visual Communication students at Arts University Bournemouth in January 2023. I spoke about the impact and development of design over the last 120 years, with a vast selection of artefacts and images, all taken from my collection, The lecture concluded with the viewing of one hundred artefacts from the archive, where students had a tactile experience on graphic design history.
The continual collecting of design ephemera and the ongoing support I offer educational establishments, champions design practice, encourages design discourse and further develops students skills in critical analysis. The archive and lectures are a great way of inspiring the next generation of graphic designers with an interactive and tactile approach to learning. By collecting and curating my design artefacts, I provide a unique insight into the evolution of design practice and the impact it has had on our society.
My lectures and workshops also help bridge the gap between academia and industry. Through my lectures and collecting, I strive to promote design as a ever-changing dynamic industry that has the power to shape and improve the world we live in.
