Das Plakat was a German poster art magazine published between 1910–21, showcasing Sachplakat and advertising design. It was the predecessor of Gebruachsgraphik.
Das Plakat was a German poster art magazine published between 1910 and 1921, dedicated to the documentation and criticism of poster design in Germany and internationally. It was the primary platform for the promotion of the Sachplakat (the object poster) pioneered by Lucian Bernhard and its pages documented the golden age of German poster design before and during the First World War.
The archive holds various issues from across the magazine’s eleven-year run, providing documentation of one of the most significant periods in European graphic design. See also German graphic design history and 1910s graphic design history.
