Fortune is an American business magazine founded in 1930 by Henry Luce, distinguished from its earliest issues by an exceptional commitment to visual design and photography. Under a succession of talented art directors it commissioned work from leading artists and designers including Leo Lionni, Alvin Lustig, and Henry Wolf, making it one of the most significant platforms for modernist illustration and photography in American publishing.
