Visible Language was an academic journal on visual communication, typography, and information design. It was first released in 1967 at Case Western Reserve University and was called the Journal for Typographic Research.
Visible Language is an academic journal on visual communication and typography founded in 1967 as The Journal of Typographic Research, continuing under its current name from 1971. It is the oldest peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to typography and visual communication, publishing research on type design, reading, information design, and the history and theory of graphic design.
