Information
Volume 1: Piet Zwart
‘The Dutchman Piet Zwart (born 1885) worked as an architect with Jan Wils and Hendrik P. Berlage. He came to typography more or less by accident and with no previous knowledge or preconceived ideas. It was a field in which he was to perform pioneering work. Inspired by Dada, and confirmed in his ideas by de Stijl, he has created an œuvre entirely his own. Besides many works by Piet Zwart, the volume contains an introduction by Peter F. Althaus and a short biography as an appendix.’
