Paul Schuitema was a Dutch designer and artist and was a member of the Circle of New Designers, a group that included Moholy-Nagy, Herbert Bayer, and Jan Tschichold. He was a pioneer in modern typography in mass communication and quickly adopted the principles of Constructivism and Bauhaus after studying in Rotterdam.

Advertising a University Ball at St. Gallen, Switzerland, 1961

Perusing an issue of Der Druckspiegel from 1962, I found these fantastic examples of Swiss Design, produced for the University Ball at the University in St. Gallen, Switzerland, in 1961. The advertising matter included posters, newspaper advertisements, cinema slides, invitation cards and a booklet.

Graphis – An inspiring magazine from cover to cover

Graphis is one of the industries most long-standing magazines. It was first published in 1944 and founded by Walter Herdeg and Walter Amstutz in Zurich, Switzerland. It was released bimonthly and was trilingual, with articles in English, French and German.

Karl Oskar Blase and his Stamp Designs for Deutsche Bundespost

He designed stamps from around 1955 and in the book Karl Oskar Blase, Briefmarken-Design, Verlag für Philatelistische Literatur, 1981, he was described as one of the most influential stamp designers in Germany.
