Information
This exhibition was comprehensive and comprehensible survey of the development and level of traffic and transport, both ways and media.
‘Today’s traffic problems and their solution are explained, and better brought to the visitors attention by graphic illustrations and demonstration. The range and importance of this many-sided subject will make the 1953 German Communications and Transport Exhibition the biggest Western-German exhibition-event of the year. The Munich exhibition grounds, already in 1925 the home of the first German Communications and Transport Exhibition, are shown-off in their new splendour. The grounds have been enlarged considerably, the greens and parks made-over, and numerous ultra-modern halls have been added to the existing ones. For the first time in many years, preparations and arrangements are being made for the reception of a million-strong stream of visitors. Various passenger and freight transportation organisations, the German Federal Republic’s big traffic centres, transportation and traffic industries and corresponding industries supplying them, representatively, and at the same time attractively, demonstrate their latest level of achievement. Munich, this centre of culture and art, provides the dignified, hospitable and truly appropriate setting for this quarter-century show of traffic and transport progress.’
