Total Design was established in 1963 and was the first large design agency in the Netherlands, The company was founded by Wim Crouwel, Friso Kramer, Benno Wissing, Paul and Dick Schwarz. Before long, Ben Bos, an experienced copywriter and designer, joined the team. Their clients included Randstad, Stedelijk Museum, Schiphol airport, De Bijenkorf, PAM, Stichting Kunst en Hande and the Peter Stuyvesant Collection of paintings.

Bäumer gave the company a unique brand image amplifying its graphical image after a time of post-war economic recovery. This style of advertising composition can be seen across many 1960s campaigns, especially from other German designers such as Anton Stankowski.

Before setting up Ken Garland & Associates in Camden, London, Ken was art editor of Design magazine in 1956. The magazine was published by the Council of Industrial Design, which was set up in 1944 with the prime focus of supporting Britains economic recovery.
The Cuban film poster conveys the spirit and ideals of the Cuban revolution. A time of political change, an uprising that ended the brutal dictatorship of Fulgencio Batista. The Danish Film Institute have a collection of Cuban Film Posters from the past 50 years.
