Jacques Richez studied at the Académie Royale des beaux-arts in Mons and, after completing his studies, joined a design studio in Brussels. During the war he enlisted in the Army, and returned in 1944 and set up his own studio. He took part in AGI exhibitions in London, Lausanne and Paris, and the Design in Print exhibition in Edinburgh, 1955. His design was used for the Brussels World Fair in 1958 and he was a member of the Institut belge d'esthétique industrielle and a lecturer at the Ecole technique de publicité in Brussels.

A total of 24 posters were created for the campaign during 1964, using the arrow symbol as a key features, representing power, motion and speed. The handmade lithographs use up to 19 colours, which were individually printed at large scale. The posters also utilise the brand colours red and yellow from Shells corporate identity.

Magalhães developed over 180 brands and in addition to developing visual identities, he also developed designs for Brazilian notes and coins.

Giovanni began his work with Olivetti in March 1938, and his work was showcased in various exhibitions and had a clear distinctive style that amplified the Olivetti brand image. His design defined the company’s visual image, and the iconic geometric designs are still as powerful and engaging today as they were in the 1950s.
