Herbert Bayer was an Austrian-American artist and designer and studied at the Bauhaus school. He worked across various disciplines including graphic design, typeface design, photography, and art . He left the Bauhaus school in 1928 to pursue a career in advertising in Berlin and incorporated many of the Bauhaus ideas into his commercial practice. In 1938, he moved to New York and worked in various fields of graphic design throughout his long career.
