Born in 1939 in Kamaishi City, Iwate Prefecture, Ryohei Kojima graduated from Asagaya Art School in 1959 and Musashino Art Junior College in 1961. He initially worked in the advertising department at Ginza San'ai before joining Light Publicity Co. in 1963. After 12 years with the creative agency, Kojima established his own design studio, Ryohei Kojima Design Studio, in 1975.

In 1964, Sugiura was commissioned by the magazine Design to design each of their twelve monthly cover designs. Creating a series of systems which set the foundations for the design.

Gebrauchsgraphik 06, 1956 features a selection of the posters entered into the 1956 awards. It is unknown how many entries were submitted to the 1956 awards but a total of 21 posters were awarded.
The Paris Poster Hoardings of 1938. Posters gleam forth accentuating the melody of this city as they direct the eye to articles of everyday use and above all to people who are the talk of the hour.
The covers of the periodical ALMANAQUE, which was published in Lisbon, are perfect examples of this pleasure in the unusual and the force of with which all sorts of foreign influences are assimilated.
