Giancarlo Iliprandi

Giancarlo Iliprandi studied medicine before transferring to the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan, graduating in painting and stage design in 1955. After further study in Berlin, he spent twelve years in advertising with a nascent department store, then joined Standa. From 1960 to 1972 he was Art Director of Water-ski magazine, and worked for Popular Photography, Esquire and Derby. As a graphic designer he worked for Siemens, RAI, Elizabeth Arden and Fiat. In 1967 he founded the first university-level school for graphic design in Italy in Milan, of which he became president. Explore related designers including Franco Grignani and Giovanni Pintori. Ken Garland

Ken was born in 1929, in Southampton and grew up in a small market town in North Devon. He was a principled man, with strong values and views against the hyper-consumerism we live with today. Ken studied at the London Central School of Arts and Crafts in the 1950s and was taught by Herbert Spencer, Anthony Froshaug and Jesse Collins. Whilst at the School he studied alongside designers Ken Briggs, Alan Fletcher and Colin Forbes.
